Good, Old-fashioned Summertime Fun

(Still more catching up...Summer 2012)

Even though it's fun to get out, we are pretty good at being "home bodies." The girls have "built in friends" right here in the family, and our backyard provides more friends who we love! Every morning around 7am, Claire starts begging to "go ask Abby and Jane." We hold off for another 2 hours and then I let her loose to go find her friends.

We finally "bit the bullet" and bought our own trampoline. We got it the week Ivie was born, and our timing couldn't have been better. The girls have found a lot of entertainment out there! We wonder why we didn't get one years earlier.

I'm so glad Claire and Jane grew up and decided to be friends this Summer. They have a lot of fun together!

Millie is taking after her mom. She loves doing hair! I'm amazed at how well she can do braids.

A dog pile around here is more like a shared pony ride. The girls love playing with Daddy on the floor after dinner.

Dancing ballerinas love a reason to get dressed up and put make-up on. They usually say they are doing a "play" so they prepare some type of program for us. Then they dance and dance to Celine Dion's "One Heart" or Disney princess songs. I can't get enough of this!

As a side note, Grace's polka dot swimsuit is her all-purpose suit this summer. She wears it to dance, gymnastics, and swimming. It has been around ever since Millie was born. It was an All-a-Dollar special. What $1item has lasted 6 years and been used as much as that?
