Paul's Job Change

In June, Paul took a job offer to work for another company, Rego Consulting. We never thought he would leave his work at the Church. It was a difficult decision, but the more we thought about it, this seemed like a good experience that he would enjoy and learn from.

The biggest draw for me was that he would work from home. This was like a dream come true! Even though he didn't work super long hours at the church, with the commute, he was gone for 11 hours straight. This seemed like way too long! Our girls do so much better when they have Daddy's presence in the mornings and throughout the day. He is such a positive influence in their lives.

From the start, we knew he would need an office to shut out the sounds of the day. We've been talking about possibly putting up a wall in our basement for years. I can't believe how fast the job change happened, and how quickly we got that office in. We didn't get the "before" pictures, but here's one in the process and the final product. Paul is very pleased with his office, especially the glass doors that allow him to not feel closed out from the world.

We absolutely love having him home all day long! The girls visit him several times throughout the day to say hi, show him pictures they've drawn, ask for treats or for help. We get him with us for morning prayer, breakfast, and lunch. It's wonderful! And I love that he can run upstairs to help out when we are in crisis mode. I have far less crazy mom moments because he is nearby. We consider this change a huge blessing in our lives!

Here's one of our favorite parts of the office:

And now (in January), we have another fun addition to the room, that provided some "co-workers" for Daddy, and an excuse for us all to visit him even more...fish! Pics to come in later posts.
